Inkster apartment fire displaces 20 residents

INKSTER, Mich. (WJBK) -- Officials believe an unattended BBQ grill may be to blame for an apartment building fire that drove 20 residents out of their homes, FOX 2's Roop Raj reports.

No injuries were reported following the fire at the Dartmouth apartments off Beech Daly and Michigan.

The fire began around 3 a.m. Thursday, forcing residents to evacuate the complex.

Fire officials say the investigation into the cause in ongoing.

The American Red Cross and Salvation Army are on the scene to assist fire crews and residents. Those interested in helping the victims can email firedept@ww-fa.com.
