WARREN, Mich. (WJBK) -- Two suspects are in custody following a high speed morning pursuit that led police along several busy metro Detroit freeways.

SkyFOX was overhead when a white SUV led police at speeds reaching over 100 mph down eastbound I-696 Thursday morning. The SUV eventually exited at Mound Road before driving over an embankment and back onto the freeway before coming to a stop.

Police surrounded the SUV and removed the two male suspects. Police say the they are juveniles who stole the SUV earlier in the day near a school and fled onto the Southfield Freeway before being pursued by officers.

Police say the suspects were not cooperating, but they have been able to identify them. One is 15 years old and the other is 17 years old. Police are looking into their backgrounds.

Michigan State Police Lt. Michael Shaw says no one was injured during the pursuit that lasted well over 10 minutes and was broadcast live on FOX 2.
