Student Stages School Walkout To Protest Newark School System

Posted: Updated:
Newark, New Jersey (My9NJ) - Newark resident Kristin Tulkanik is truly a force to be reckoned with. This 17 year-old doesn’t mind breaking the rules to make her point and try to improve the Newark school system. She‘s on mission to help students regain control of their schools.

Yesterday around noon-time, with a megaphone in hand, Tulkanik was leading a student walkout towards City Hall to protest Christie’s recent superintendent appointee Cami Anderson who Tulkanik believes is an outsider.

“We need students to stand up for what they believe in and really fight for their education because if we don’t do it, it’s obvious that no one else is going to,” she explained.

Hundreds of students left school and gathered at Newark City Hall to fight for their education. Tulkanik’s family was even on hand to watch her shine and stand up for something that she believes wholeheartedly in. Her mother couldn’t help but boast about how proud she was of her daughter for fighting for what she believes in.

“It just amazes me. I’m just in awe of her, I really am,” Kristen’s mom Heather Stewart gushed.

She went on to praise her daughter’s actions and confirmed that Tulkanik can handle anything, including New Jersey politics if she chooses to go down that path one day.

StubHub, which is a website that provides services for buyers and sellers for tickets to sporting events, concerts, and other live entertainment events, has been hacked. StubHub is getting a lot of bad press, but the site is really the victim here. The hackers have hacked accounts from other sites, and then used that information to get into the StubHub accounts.
