Clear the clutter around your home and spring into organization. There are both easy and affordable ways to get rid of the old and freshen up your space.
Lifestyle expert Jamie O'Donnell shared some tips to help organize on the cheap.
First, she said by clearing up your closet you make it easier to get ready in the morning. O'Donnell said hangers are important. She recommends "huggable hangers" which are actually half the size of regular hangers. That way, not only does it look nice, but you can fit double the amount into your closet. They are also covered in material to keep clothes from slipping off.
She said when it comes to jewelry, display the items you wear often. O'Donnell recommends using vintage plates, sugar bowls or apothecary jars to freshen up your space and keep your most often worn pieces within reach.
In the kitchen, O'Donnell said you can use file folder holders to keep all of your pans and cutting boards in order. She also recommends refrigerator and freezer bins to hold and stack the food in your refrigerator.
Finally, she shared a few ways to keep your office clutter-free. O'Donnell said she has a "free money box" in her office to keep all of her gift cards and coupons in one place. She also recommends setting up a mail station to easily sort your daily mail that either require immediate action, need to be filed or go straight into the trash.
