Autumn’s Law Seeks to Hold Parents Criminally Accountable for Kid’s Actions

Posted: Updated:
Woodbridge, New Jersey (My9NJ) - It’s been almost 18 months since 12 year-old Autumn Pasquale was murdered by her 15 year-old neighbor, Justin Robinson. Since then the Pasquale family has been trying to pick up the pieces and rebuild their life.

Autumn’s Dad Anthony Pasquale is now pushing to pass ‘Autumn’s Law’, this law would hold parents criminally responsible in certain circumstances for the actions of their children.

“If Justin’s parents were to be responsible parents and not be neglectful as far as raising their kids, I think today Autumn would still be alive with us,” Pasquale explained.

Justin Robinson is now serving 17 years in prison but the Attorney for the Pasquale family, Doug Long said that’s not enough. He feels that if there is any indication that a child is going down the wrong path, then parents should be held accountable. Long said in this case, all the signs were there.

“Exactly what he witnessed from his father, choking his mother out is how he murdered Autumn. He showed an increased propensity for criminal activity. Not once did he seek out any of the services that the school, the town, the county, the state might have for Justin,” Long said.

If Autumns Law is passed, parents could actually do jail-time for their children’s actions if they didn’t do everything in their power to intervene and prevent criminal behavior.

Autumn’s Law is currently being considered by legislators. Meanwhile Anthony Pasquale continues what he calls his mission to make sure no other families have to deal with this type of pain.

StubHub, which is a website that provides services for buyers and sellers for tickets to sporting events, concerts, and other live entertainment events, has been hacked. StubHub is getting a lot of bad press, but the site is really the victim here. The hackers have hacked accounts from other sites, and then used that information to get into the StubHub accounts.
