Young Girl Finds Amazing Treasure In State Park

Posted: Updated:

An Oklahoma girl strikes gold or should we say diamond!

Tana Clymer found a 3.85 carat diamond last October while hunting for gems with her family in Arkansas.

Clymer recalls, "I screamed 'mom!', and I like ran as fast as I could towards my parents with it, like closed in my fist."

Clymer returned home to Oklahoma and selling the yellow tear-drop shaped rock for $20,000.

Clymer says it all felt like a dream.

She continues, "I feel like god told me to slow down and look at the ground, and out the corner of my eye, I see something shining."

Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas is the only diamond-producing park in the US that's open to the public.

Clymer says she plans on saving the money and putting it towards her college education.
