Sanford police urge residents to be extra vigilant after girl is grabbed by man

SANFORD, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -

Sanford police officers said that, shortly before 4 p.m. on Friday, a teenage girl walking home from school near 27th and Palmetto was grabbed by a man, but the girl was able to fight back and escape his grip.  

The suspect grabbed the girl by her arm and hair and swung her around.  Officers said she fought him off by swinging her arms and kicking him in the groin.  The girl went to an adult who then contacted police.

The suspect is described as a black man in his mid-20s, approximately 5 feet, 9 inches tall, with a medium build and dark complexion.  He was wearing a blank tank top that had holes and rolled up blue jeans.
