The car connected to the suspect accused of causing a deadly crash at an Orlando day care has been found. Wanda Diaz, a spokesperson with Florida Highway Patrol said at approximately 7:10 p.m. Saturday eveningDaniel W. Tumarkin, the attorney for the suspect in the crash, Robert Corchado, contacted them and advised troopers that he had information on the whereabouts of the missing Mazda rented by Corchado.
Detectives said Corchado rented the Mazda after dumping the vehicle he was driving during the hit and run crash at the KinderCare day care Wednesday afternoon. FHP troopers saidCorchado crashed into another car that then slammed into the day care onGoldenrod Road.
That crash claimed the life of 4-year-old Lily Quintus and left nearly a dozen others seriously injured. Corchado, who left the scene of the accident and was sought by law enforcement until he turned himself in Thursday evening told his attorney where the Mazda was, and the attorney provided FHP with the location of the vehicle along with the keys.
The vehicle was located by FHP Troopers at WentworthApartments on Dean Road between SR 408 and Lake Underhill. The vehicle has been taken into custody byFHP for safekeeping at this time.
