From magazine covers to the Internet, celebrity moms seem to slim down right after having their little one. But does the "baby-weight obsession" set reasonable expectations for new moms and their post-baby bodies?
Fitness Icon Tony Little said the health of both mom and baby is the most important factor when it comes to losing baby-weight. Mothers often feel pressure to lose all the weight they gained right away, but Little said take your time.
Jumping back in too quickly can actually be damaging. Little said fitness is a lifestyle. Over-exercising might produce immediate results, but when you stop those results go away. He recommends taking it slowly, beginning at a low level and working up while making it fun.
Little also said women like Facebook mom Maria Kang, who posted a controversial photo showing off her toned abs with her three kids, captioned, "What's your excuse?" sets unrealistic expectations because likely Kang had genetics on her side.
If you would like to meet Tony Little yourself, he will be at Ron Jon Surf Shop in Cocoa Beach from 1-2 p.m. on April 15th.
