The Lake City Police Department says the suspect in a brutal murder was captured Sunday.
Investigators say they believed Carlis Lindsey may have fled to Orlando and sent out a "be on the lookout" to law enforcement across the state.
Officials say they noticed a home in Lake City that appeared to be broken into. Officers found a screen removed, the front door kicked in and the blinds moving and surrounded the home.
A few moments later, after commands to surrender, Carlis Lindsey III, gave himself up without incident.
After arriving at the police station to be interviewed, Lindsey passed out. Officers still on‐scene on Double Run Road checked the burglarized residence and found prescription bottles and pills scattered on the floor.
Lindsey was immediately transported to an area hospital for treatment.
