MAPLEWOOD, Minn. (KMSP) -

Maplewood police announced Monday they've identified the woman found in a wooded area on Saturday as 54-year-old Victoria Thacker DeConwi.

Investigators said DeConwi moved from Washington to Minnesota in 2012 and was believed to have been homeless for a period of time before her death. An official cause of death is pending toxicology tests but police do not suspect foul play.

"Investigators have learned that Ms. Thacker DeConwi had a long history of personal struggles," Maplewood Police Commander Mike Shortreed said.. "Unfortunately, we will not likely determine the reason Ms. Thacker DeConwi was walking in the area her body was located," Shortreed added.

Maplewood police responded to reports of a body in a wooded area near Hazelwood and Beam on Saturday at 3:20 p.m. She was found fully clothed in a creek bed near a steep embankment.
