Dog found treading water in the St. Johns River reunited with owner
ASTOR, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
Lake County Animal Services says they reunited the dog that was found afloat in the St. Johns River with its owner Tuesday morning.
Officials say the dachshund named "Buddy" rescued from the water Saturday was turned over to animal services which found the owner.
The family says Buddy has been boating with them for years and usually sleep in a cabin below deck but had gone missing for about 20 minutes before they realized he had gone overboard.
A couple boating on the river spotted the dog's nose protruding from the
water and scooped him up near channel marker 28, close to the
Blackwater Inn Restaurant.
Officials say the owner saw Buddy's photo on TV and social media and picked him up.
