Former "Howard Stern Show" sidekick Artie Lange hospitalized in Royal Oak

Posted: Updated:
Former "Howard Stern Show" co-host Artie Lange is in town for an extended stay, but the circumstances are a little puzzling.

Lange posted on his Twitter page this week he's been hospitalized "outside Detroit" after going into diabetic shock. Several other Twitter posts were removed from his page Wednesday, including one that suggested he was being held against his will in the hospital's psychiatric ward.

Lange was scheduled to perform last Saturday at the Royal Oak Music Theatre.

The latest update, according to TMZ.com:
4:25 PM PT -- Artie's expected to get out of the hospital tomorrow (Thursday), according to his rep. We're told he's feeling much better, but he'll be heading home for some rest.
As for this weekend's L.A. stand up gig -- we're told it's going to be rescheduled.
