WARREN, Mich. (WJBK) - A wanted suspect believed to be connected to an armed robbery at a doctor's office is now is custody. Police believe the man may also be connected to other dangerous crimes.

Ray Slayton, 47, was arrested Sunday morning at a hotel in Warren on felony drug charges.

Devan Patel at the MnM Motel along Eight Mile Road tells FOX 2's Amy Lange he saw 16 - 17 SWAT members come in a "drag" a man out of the room. Officials tossed a flashbang into Slayton's room and a battering ram was shoved through the door.

The line of SWAT members can also be seen on surveillance video from the motel.

When officers found him they noticed he'd shaved his head and facial hair as a disguise.

They say Slayton had been staying at the hotel for a few days. He was staying under the name of an associate so no one suspected anything.

Investigators believe Slayton is connected to at least one homicide in Detroit. He is facing drug charges in Detroit and will likely be facing more charges soon.

Tips from the public helped police find him.
