    Parents without a valid drivers license or social security number are not allowed to volunteer at CMS schools. The school system requires any volunteers present a valid drivers license or social security number. Some parents feel excluded as if they can't be a part of their children's school activities. Charlotte's Memorial Stadium is full of excited 8th graders participating in Carolina Panthers School Pride Day. The kids get a chance to work out with Cam Newton of the Charlotte Panthers.

Faculty from Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools selected 15 students each to represent their school. Faculty chose the students based on their behavior, grades, and attendance.

The event is organized by the Cam Newton Foundation.
