Hawks defeat Pacers to take series lead

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA - The Atlanta Hawks defeated the Indiana Pacers 98-85 in front of an ecstatic crowd at Phillips Arena.

The Hawks did not disappoint in their first home playoff game of the season to take a 2-1 series lead.

Hawks point guard Jeff Teague dazzled fans scoring 22 points and notching 10 assists. Teague was not the only Hawk to score a double-double. Forward Paul Millsap also recorded one by scoring 14 points and a whopping 14 rebounds.

Hawks guard Kyle Korver was electric with the three-pointer going 4-7 from beyond the arc in a 20 point performance.

The story of this series has seemed to come down to the third quarter. In every game of the series the leader at the end of the third quarter has gone on to win the game.

The series will stay in Atlanta with Game four set to tip-off Saturday afternoon at Phillips Arena. Game five will take place in Indianapolis Monday night.

If the series continues past five games, the Hawks will host game six on Thursday. If the series is tied after six games, then a seventh game will occur in Indiana to determine which team moves onto the second round.
