I'm a digital journalist from Charlotte, North Carolina. I was in the United States Air Force for seven and a half years. I was a JAG paralegal in the Air Force, but still wanted to pursue my love of television broadcasting.

More than 100 men took the streets to walk a mile in high heels. There was a special reason behind it all; it was to raise money for Safe Alliance, a non-profit organization in Charlotte. Safe Alliance assists and houses victims of domestic violence.

"Take me out to the ball game...." You know the song but did you know that Shelby is hosting the American Legion World Series? This isn't the first time for the city to host the big event.

Providence Spring Elementary School 3rd grader, Hailey Kim, is a finalist in this year's "Doodle 4 Google" contest. She said family was what inspired her to create her masterpiece.

"I wanted to get to the other side of the world faster and see my relatives faster," said Kim.

Kim's drawing, "Space Tunnel Traveling Google", will represent North Carolina in the competition.

She will travel to California next month with Google.
