PHOENIX (KSAZ) - An old Phoenix store front is getting a brand new burst of creative energy.

If you've overstayed your welcome at your local coffee shop, it could be time to try "Mod."

"It's a business lounge, it's a meeting place and personalized services for mobile professionals," said Brian Stowell, founder of Mod.

Mod offers a chance to rent a space by the hour or the entire day. You simply pay as you go at $7 per hour.

"It removes the idea of fixed offices, cubicles, things like that and opens it up into a place where you can get together, spend time with people, colleagues and collaborate," he said.

They have booths and rooms for private conversations, plenty of printers, and a secure wireless network for customers to access on their mobile phones.

The company says why rent an office when most of what you need is on your phone.

"We don't have fixed desk, we don't have fixed terminals.. people bring their own devices," said Stowell.

An instant office setup for the urban professional. The lounge area has plenty of beverages and snacks plus a beer and wine bar too.

"It's a movement that's spread throughout the world, we are taking it to the next step," he said.

You can rent spaces at Mod near Central and Thomas; it's located right off the light-rail line.
