Charlotte, NC - (WJZY)- A 6-year-old boy was shot in a double shooting Friday night in north Charlotte.

The second victim shot was a 17-year-old boy. Officials say both boys were transported to Carolinas Medical Center with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

The shooting happened around 10:15 p.m. at the 8500 block of the University Station Circle in the North Division.

Investigators say there was an earlier altercation between the 17-year-old boy and several other people. Those people returned to the scene and began shooting at the 17-year-old boy, striking the 6-year-old boy as well.

The shooters then drove away from the scene, and were eventually stopped by the police. The police arrested five people, and took them to the police headquarters for questioning.

Officials say at this time, they are not searching for any additional suspects.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 704-432-TIPS or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
