ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) - The family of a man who died while helping another driver on I-4 in Orlando is speaking about their loss and the man they admired.

Florida Highway Patrol said Marcceus Marc, 46, was killed on Saturday while trying to help a stranger.

Family members said it's no surprise that Marc died helping someone else. They just hope others can learn a lesson from this tragedy.

"He's the one that stopped and tried to pull someone out from the car," said Isaie Marc, the victim's nephew. "He gave his life for that person."

FHP said Marc stopped to help a woman who was pinned in her car within the westbound lanes of I-4. FHP said the woman who was in that vehicle, Berthine Glaude, was not injured.

"My husband was a good person, was a good man," said Savenie Casimir Marc, the victim's wife. "Always helped everybody. Anybody called him, he was always happy to help."

"People really did like my dad a lot," said Marlanda Marc, the victim's daughter. "He just liked to help for no reason."

The father of seven was taking his wife to work on Saturday morning when he spotted the accident scene. He stopped to help.

FHP said Carlos Torres, 42, then lost control of his SUV and slammed into Marc and another Good Samaritan, Maleah Meyers. She was last listed in serious condition.

Marc was killed.

"He wanted to help the other person, and they car come and hit him, and then he just passed," said Savenie Marc. "He's gone. He left me with seven kids."

Marc's loved ones have one message for everyone who drives on Central Florida roads.

"I believe it's an accident so I don't think he would do that on purpose," said Isaie Marc. "Only thing I want to say is when there is rain on the highway, people need to slow down."

And Marc's daughters have one message for their father.

"I just wish I could say I love him," said Soshana Marc, his oldest daughter.

Funeral plans are pending.

No word yet on whether Torres will be charged.
