WINTER GARDEN, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
Agents from the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation and the Florida Department of Health say they busted a Winter Garden pain clinic for drug trafficking Thursday morning.
Investigators say the Pain Care Place of Central Florida on South Dillard Street in Winter Garden was searched.
Officials say owner Vincent Goodwin facilitated the diversion of trafficking Oxycodone, Morphine and Hydromorphone tablets and other controlled substances by forcing (through extortion, coercion, and threatening) Dr. Rica Bogdany, to illegally prescribe 76 prescriptions consisting of controlled substances.
Investigators say over 10,000 controlled substance prescription pills were illegally sold to multiple individuals, who used prescriptions issued without a reasonable belief of a medical necessity.
