DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) - The Daytona Beach Fire Department say an apartment leasing office was destroyed during a fire Friday morning.

Investigators say the fire started at the leasing office of the Barrington Apartments on Derbyshire Road around 5:30am.

When firefighters arrived on scene, heavy smoke and flames were seen coming from the one story wood-frame construction building.

Fire crews were able to stop the fire from spreading and damaging any adjacent buildings.

During the investigation into the cause of the fire, investigators were able to determine that the fire started from an electrical outlet that had a plug-in air freshener.

The building that was involved in the fire was the apartment complex leasing office and has been ruled a total lost. Firefighters believe the fire caused about $50,000.00 worth of damages.

No injuries have been reported.
