Deltona hires new Head of Fire Department

DELTONA, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) - The City of Deltona says it hired Mark S. Rhame, former Division Chief from Orange County Fire Rescue, as the new head of the City of Deltona's Fire Department.

Officials say Rhame, who officially takes the reigns Friday, has more than 32 years of experience in various roles in the fire and rescue field. His recent position was as a Senior Consultant with C3 Pathways, Inc. where he was responsible for assisting agencies with Homeland Security exercise evaluation and compliance.

With Orange County, Rhame was the Division Chief of Training and later the Division Chief of Operations before retiring in 2011. Orange County Fire Rescue is the fourth largest fire rescue department in Florida.
