ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
A man who told Orange County Sheriff's investigators that three masked men broke into his house and shot his girlfriend to death was arrested for her murder Saturday morning.
According to investigators, On April 30th, John DeJesus told them that three armed men broke into his home, robbed him and fatally shot his girlfriend, 22-year-old Yoliz Borrero in front of her young children.
Through the investigation, Orange County Deputies said that this was not a random home invasion and that DeJesus was the prime suspect.
DeJesus was arrested last week on drug charges, according to the Orange County Jail. He was also charged with possession of a firearm by a felon.
According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, DeJesus is being charged with first degree murder.
