Prescott Valley man arrested after kicking in neighbor's door

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - A 27-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly kicked in his neighbor's door early Monday morning.

Police say a 36-year-old man told them Theodore Acosta was in his yard around 3 a.m., causing his dogs to bark.

The man told Acosta to leave, but he reportedly returned to the home in the 3900 block of Navajo about four hours later. According to the homeowner, the two men don't know each other.

Acosta was allegedly confronational with the man and made threats to kill him.

Police say the man told Acosta he was calling the police and locked his door. Shortly afterward, Acosta reportedly kicked in the front door and went into the man's home.

Acosta eventually fled to across the street, where police found him when they arrived.

According to police, Acosta seemed to be impaired and admitted to using meth recently.

He was booked into jail and faces charges of threatening and intimidating, burglary in the 2nd degree, criminal trespassing and criminal damage
