ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) - Orange Avenue was closed to traffic on Tuesday evening due to a high rise fire.

Firefighters responded to a three-alarm fire at The Plaza, located at 189 S. Orange Avenue.  Smoke had been reported on multiple levels of the office tower when crews arrived at the scene around 9 p.m.

Rescuers said there was an electrical fire in an elevator on the 11th floor.  It caused smoke to spread to the 20th floor through the elevator shaft, setting off smoke alarms.

The fire was extinguished after about 20 minutes and authorities began the process of assessing the damage.  No injuries were reported.
