ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) --  The United States Tennis Association on Wednesday announced that Orlando’s Lake Nona would become home to the newest state of the art tennis facility in the nation.

The USTA says that this $60 million center will feature more than 100 tennis courts, ranging from small youth courts to clay and hard courts that are signature elements of American tennis. Other highlights to be featured at the center include a fitness area, a tennis pro shop, and a player lounge.

The new complex would relocate the USTA Player Development Division’s national headquarters from Boca Raton to Orlando.

Residents of the Lake Nona say that they are not only excited because of the crowds that this 63-acre complex will bring to the area, but also because of the total 154 jobs that the facility will create.

"We're really trying to expand our image across the country and across the world that we are not just a great place to visit, but we're really a great place to live," said Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs

Once opened, the University of Central Florida’s said that its tennis program will also call the facility its new home.

The USTA expects to open the facility and its doors to people of all ages by late 2016.
