CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

General Manager Steve Mills of the New York Knicks talked with former Chicago Bulls’ star Scottie Pippen on Thursday regarding him joining the Knicks’ organization, according to a report by Sports Illustrated.

Mills and Pippen allegedly discussed Pippen joining the team as an assistant coach. They met for about 15 minutes, according to Marc Berman of the New York Post.

“I haven’t talked to Phil [Jackson]. I have to wait until that time comes. Right now nothing’s out there. I’m not going to say whether I’m interested or not until it happens,” said Pippen.

Jackson, who coached Pippen on the Bulls, is currently the president of the Knicks. He supposedly wants Pippen to join the team in some form or another. Pippen would have a strong knowledge of Jackson’s preferred triangle offense.

Pippen is now 48-years-old. He had won six championships with the Bulls while in his prime.
