DETROIT (WJBK) - Three people are hurt after a car crash in Detroit.

Detroit police say this a silver Chevy Impala was driving more than 70 mph in a residential street on the city's east side.

A Detroit police cruiser saw the speeding car. Police were going to go after it, but before the cruiser could even turn around the Chevy ran a stop sign at Seyburn Street and Warren Avenue.

A man driving a Cadillac had the right of way but was hit by the Chevy. The Impala then crashed into a tree.

The driver of the Cadillac was not injured. The driver of the Chevy got out and tried to run away but he was apprehended and arrested.

Two passengers in the Chevy were rushed to the hospital in critical condition. The driver is also being treated at the hospital while in police custody.
