Calif. high school pulls off epic mariachi senior prank

Posted: Updated:

A Santa Barbara, Calif. high school pulled off an epic senior prank, or rather, a senior serenade.

The students at Santa Barbara High School had a mariachi quartet follow principal John Becchio for an hour through the hallways on Tuesday. He opened his office door at 7:30 a.m. only to find the quartet in full uniform, who promptly began singing to the delight of students and faculty. The viral video has been viewed over 500,000 times on YouTube.

Becchio is apparently a great sport, because on Monday, all of this things inside his office had been shrink-wrapped, he told the Los Angeles Times.

We hope the band played “De Colores.” That’s a great song.
