Deputies in Hillsborough County are looking for the man who robbed a fast-foot restaurant while wearing a distinctive chapeau.
It was around 6 a.m. Wednesday when the suspect, armed with a semi-automatic handgun, walked into the Burger King on Van Dyke Road. He forced the manager to open the cash drawers and safe, then snagged the employees' cell phones -- which he later dropped -- before fleeing.
Deputies described the robber as a thin-built black or Hispanic male, in his 20s or 30s and between 170 and 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans, black boots, white latex gloves, a black bandana covering his nose and mouth, and wearing what they called a white "chef-style" hat.
Anyone with any information reference the suspect is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 813-247-8200.
