ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) - The boyfriend of a mother whose toddler was found dead in an Orlando motel room went before a judge on Sunday.

Jonathan Charapata’s bond was set at $100,000, $50,000 each for two counts of aggravated child abuse.

The judge raised the charges from child abuse, as it was listed when Charapata was booked into the Orange County Jail on Saturday.

Charapata is accused of abusing Merissa Anderson’s other two surviving children.

However, investigators say Charapata was watching Anderson’s three children in a motel room on June 2 when Anderson’s 2-year-old son, Justin Polk, Jr. was found unresponsive.

Fox 35’s Kate Burgess has the full story.
