Police Attend Graduation Of Fallen Officer's Son

Posted: Updated:
Griffin, Ga.-The son of a slain Griffin police officer graduated from high school on Saturday while dozens of police officers cheered him on in the stands.

Hezekiah Jordan's father, Officer Kevin Jordan, was shot and killed during an off-duty security job outside of a Waffle House last week.

"I mean it's overwhelming, but I mean, it doesn't matter how many, it won't fill his shoes," said Hezekiah.

Surrounded by family, friends and fellow officers, Hezekiah stepped up to the podium to receive his degree while paying respect to his fallen father.

"It's very moving and very uplifting, and encouraging to know that so many people would come and do that and give up their free time to support this young man and his family," said Griffin Police Lieutenant Mike Richardson.

Officer Jordan's funeral will take place on Monday at Oak Hill Baptist Church in Williamson.
