Preview: South Carolina's Primary Election

Posted: Updated:
Another round of state primary elections happen on Tuesday. This time it's South Carolina's turn. Starting at 7 a.m. polls open all across the state.

Some of the notable races are Lieutenant Governor, U.S. Senate (both seats), State Treasure, State Superintendent of Education, Adjutant General, and Commissioner of Agriculture. Also local governments have ballots full of choices.

Lindsey Graham, who is the two term Republican incumbent is facing opposition from Republicans, Democrats, and 3rd Parties. This particular race has gained lots of attention because Graham's Republican competition has questioned Graham's conservative values.

An unusual circumstance has the other U.S. Senate seat up for a vote in South Carolina. Jim DeMint stepped down in 2012 and Governor Nikki Haley moved Republican Tim Scott into that vacant seat.
