HAMILTON TWP., N.J. - Hamilton Township police say they're trying to locate a 41-year-old Egg Harbor Township man in connection with a DWI crash that injured one of their officers earlier this spring.

A judge has issued a warrant for David McAvaddy on charges of assault by auto, driving while intoxicated and reckless driving, police say, in connection with the 12:18 a.m. April 25 crash on Route 40.

According to investigators, McAvaddy was the driver who struck a police vehicle driven by Officer James Longo, who was on routine patrol.

On Wednesday, police released news of the warrant with a photo of McAvaddy plus one of the heavily-damaged police SUV.

Authorities say McAvaddy is described as a white male, 5 feet 11 inches tall, approximately 170 pounds with green eyes.

Detective. Frank Schalek told FOX 29 News that Longo suffered injuries to his shoulder, back and arm. The officer was treated at Atlantic Regional Medical Center and just returned to work on Tuesday.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact Schalek at (609) 625-2700 ext. 567.
