Musician Jacob Berger and photographer Daniel Coston have teamed up to create There Was A Time: Rock & Roll in the 1960's in Charlotte, and North Carolina.

"I wanted you to be able to know these kids, their stories, what it was like to be in a band," Coston said.

The book discusses the rock-and-roll movement in North Carolina in the 1960's while focusing on Charlotte -- where Berger is a veteran to the music scene and Coston has developed a reputation through photography. It focuses on the people that made the scene what it was -- complete with interviews, photos and more.

They recently celebrated the second edition of the book at the Charlotte Museum of History with a presentation and live performance from the Mannish Boys -- led by Berger.

"That whole time was things change, the styles and the music, just the whole youth culture changed so much just in a matter of two or three years," Berger said. "Then all you had were hippies and that stuff."
