Dog Reunites With Owners After Missing For 20 Months

Posted: Updated:

Forest Hill, Calif- A dog in California that was missing for 20 months was finally reunited with her owners.

It all started back in October 2012, when the Golden Retriever named Murphy went missing inside the Thane National Forest.

After days of searching, her owners started a Facebook page in hopes of finding her.

Last weekend, all their efforts paid off.

Janice Watkins and her family found the missing dog after she ran up to their Border Collie, Trip.

Eventually, they were able to get a leash on her and return her home.

"We had heard the story and there were bulletins posted, notes posted around. She been missing since October of 2012," said Janice.

Janice's husband, Russ Watkins, says that Murphy would have quite a story to tell if dogs could talk.

"She was very timid. She had her tail tucked most of the time until about halfway then she started wagging it. She was very sweet,” said Russ. "It is a good feeling, I’m glad that she is back with her owner because that is an incredible story what that dog could tell us right now if she could talk. Cause how she survived no idea."

Murphy was reunited with her owners on Father's Day.
