Portion of Orange Ave. to close in downtown Orlando for road work
By Stuart Campbell, Web Producer -
South Orange Avenue, between Anderson Street and South Street, will be closed for roughly three weeks, due to reconstruction of the roadway.
In addition, the right turn lane on eastbound South Street on to southbound Orange Avenue from Boone will also be unavailable due to the closures.
The closures are coming to downtown Orlando for roadway and pedestrian enhancements, like improved crosswalks and increased audible pedestrian signals. Additionally, the roadway will be realigned to add a dedicated right turn lane that will support the upcoming Ultimate I-4 expansion project.
The full closure will begin the morning of Saturday, July 19th and will remain closed until Sunday, August 10th.
