ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) - Seven people on board a Piper Navajo airplane got quite a scare as the pilot was making a final approach to Orlando's Executive Airport on Friday.

The private plane, which was inbound from the Bahamas, struck a bird as the plane crossed over Forsyth Road shortly before 1 p.m.   The pilot notified the tower after the windshield shattered.

The pilot managed to land the plane safely, and a passenger who suffered some lacerations was treated at the scene.

Both the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration were notified of the incident.
