iPads donated to kids with cancer honoring man's last wish

ROYAL OAK, Mich. (WJBK) - "Thank you Jeff. We love you," says Mary Ellen Wadha and she looks up above, hoping her son is looking down with a smile.

"This whole thing going on today is completely 100% his idea," says Michael Wadha.

Jeffrey Wadha, known to many as Chip, shared an idea before passing two years ago at age 38 from stage-four lung cancer. His idea was to give children diagnosed with cancer, stuck in bed and going through chemotherapy, a chance to forget they're sick.

Jeffrey Wadha's friends and family carried out his dream Friday. After raising more than $30,000 they donated 78 iPads.

On the back of each iPad is an inscription reading, "In loving memory of Jeffrey David Wadha" to help keep his memory alive.

The Wadha family says this is just the beginning and plan to keep Jeffrey's memory and dream alive for years to come, knowing he will be there every step of the way.
