Body pulled out of Colorado River in Grand Canyon Park

Posted: Updated:
GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, Ariz. -

Park rangers at the Grand Canyon recovered a body from the Colorado River on Friday morning.

The victim's remains have not yet been identified, but the body was found about 25 miles down river from the area where a Phoenix doctor fell from a ledge on June 27th.

68-year-old Dr. Victor Tseng is an orthopedic hand surgeon who was last seen by other members of his boating trip below Havasu Rapids.  Tseng was not wearing a floatation device at the time he fell overboard.  Rescue crews spent days searching by air and ground, trying to find the Valley doctor.

The Coconino County Medical Examiner's office will help with the investigation to try and determine whether the recovered body is that of Dr. Tseng.
