David Fanale resigned his position as a Franklin Councilman yesterday morning. According to the Borough Business Administrator Fanale cited the “excessive stress of recent events” as the reason behind his decision. This clearly refers to the backlash he’s received from his recent Facebook posts which are strongly anti-police.

Police don’t think this incident is funny at all. Nevin Mattessich, the FOP Lodge 57 President, discussed this latest controversy.

Franklin Borough, New Jersey (My9NJ) -

Former Franklin Borough Councilman David Fanale has received a lot of attention lately after angering law enforcement, their families and members of the community when he posted images on his personal Facebook page that were strongly anti-police. It all started when Fanale and his fiancé were pulled over in Roxbury, New Jersey in what he calls and “unconstitutional stop”. The incident took place a while back, but Fanale has been upset about it ever since resulting in the anti-cop cartoon posts on his social media page.

Earlier this week Fanale resigned his position as councilman. He said this decision was done solely for the sake of his loved ones, but his choice to step down should not be seen as an apology.

“I was planning on being that kid on the side of the street that’s saying “the Emperor has no clothes”. And people are taking notice now. All of this media attention has had a tremendous impact on our family,” he explained.

Fanale was expected at the Borough council meeting on Tuesday night, where a couple of hundred cops were waiting to confront him, but he didn’t show.

“I have to sit there and take this from people that I fundamentally disagree with. No good is going to come from this,” he said.

StubHub, which is a website that provides services for buyers and sellers for tickets to sporting events, concerts, and other live entertainment events, has been hacked. StubHub is getting a lot of bad press, but the site is really the victim here. The hackers have hacked accounts from other sites, and then used that information to get into the StubHub accounts.
