NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

A large inflatable Rubik’s Cube is sailing around New York City to celebrate the birthday of its inventor and the toy’s 40th anniversary.

Hungarian professor Erno Rubik is credited with inventing the world’s best-selling toy in 1974.

The colorful, solid cube, twists and turns, but does not break or fall apart.

To commemorate Rubik's 70th birthday on Sunday and the Rubik's Cube's anniversary, a tugboat is towing the inflatable version around city landmarks.

On Friday, the Cube departed Miller’s Launch on Staten Island and embarked on a tour that included a stop at the Statue of Liberty before continuing up the Hudson River.

The 20x20 inflatable cube's marine expedition is part of the Liberty Science Center’s ‘Rubik’s Birthday Bash,’ a celebration taking place July 11 - July 13.

Report: health risks at some nail salons

One of the most surprising findings in a report from the New York City public advocate is that city officials have virtually no authority over how nail salons are run. The city can't enforce standards like they do with restaurants, so it's clearly a case of beauty buyer beware. We get our nails done without thinking too much about it.
