Who's Reading Your Mail?

Posted: Updated:
Piscataway, New Jersey (My9NJ) -

When you receive emails, do you know if anyone else has read them?

Newly released documents from National Security Agency whistleblower, Edward Snowden, revealed a list of email addresses that the government was spying on and among those on the list were Rutgers University Professor, Dr. Hooshang Amirahmadi.

What this means is that the NSA has been looking into and monitoring Dr. Amirahmadi's emails. He took offense to this and is outraged anyone would spy on him.

"Everything I have done has been in the best interest of the United States of America. Absolutely nothing, not a single statement, single action that I have taken that would even come close to anything harming the American interest," he said.

Dr. Amirahmadi was running for President of Iran last year and has been involved in U.S. Diplomacy for almost 40 years. He's a dual citizen of the U.S. and Iran.

His main concern is that his Rutgers email is on that list. Whoever was looking into this, could see emails from the students and other faculty members at Rutgers.

"Even if the email have been heard... God there's nothing in those emails that would harm them. I know that there's nothing in those emails and in those papers. They are regular emails and regular academic papers. But that doesn't really reduce the governments responsibility," he explained.

Dr. Amirahmadi fled a dictatorship to the U.S. because it was oppressive and invasive. He's in our country because we are the freeist country on the planet and he didn't expect this from our government. However, he stated that he is not surprised.
