NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Thousands of people came out for the Bastille Day Festival in New York City on Sunday.

It took place on 60th Street, between Lexington and 5th. Avenues.

French wines, cheeses, and other delicacies were being sampled on the Upper East Side.

For more than ten years, Bastille Day on 60th Street has been the largest public celebration in New York commemorating France’s Independence Day and its historic friendship with the United States.

    The Manhattan West Project is a $4.5 billion development that will change the skyline on the West Side. The five-acre site that will consist of office towers, a residential building, retail, a 5-star hotel, health and fitness facilities, rooftop gardens, restaurants, cafes, and a park is being built on top of active rail yards. Fox 5 got a look at the progress of the project.
