DREXEL HILL, Pa. - A woman is dead after a gruesome attack in a Drexel Hill neighborhood, and two sons were abducted from the homicide scene by her husband, but the children have now been released after a pharmacy robbery in New York, authorities say.

Police say it was about 2:30 a.m. when 28-year-old Christina Belajonas' body was found inside a second-floor apartment on the 200 block of Abbey Terrace in the Delaware County community. She had been shot in the head and stabbed.

Police were searching for the woman's husband, identified as 32-year-old Keith Belajonas, and issued an Amber Alert for the two boys, who are said to be ages 4 and 6. Their names are Christopher and Robert.

The man and kids were reported to be traveling in a dark-gray Nissan Pathfinder with a Pennsylvania license plate of JDH7477, possibly headed to New York, and police said Belajonas was wanted in connection with his wife's death.

Belajonas' Pathfinder was found ditched in New York. He was found dead in the Eltingville section of Staten Island, NY a short time later.

"One of the occupants of the building heard the struggle, heard the shot," Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood said at the scene. "Next thing you know is he hears a guy coming down with two little kids -- we believe the ages of the kids are 4 to 6, 5 and 6, two little boys. One of the children states, 'Is mommy dead? Is mommy dead?' And out the door they go."

Just before 7 a.m., Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood provided an update, saying police in Staten Island report that Belajonas apparently held-up a CVS Pharmacy in Staten Island and released the boys. The children were unharmed and taken to a New York Hospital for evaluation. Child Youth Services will decide where they will be placed.

"The information that we're getting from Staten Island police is that the guy we want for the murder here held-up a CVS in Staten Island," Chitwood said. "The employee that he held up allegedly is a family member. After he held them up at gunpoint, he then left the kids behind and he took off. He's also alleged to have some type of posting on Facebook or some type of social media that he had a fight with her over here, and that he won the fight."

Police in Upper Darby released one photo of him at the crime scene and pointed to another online that shows him with guns.

"Now, this guy's armed and dangerous," Chitwood said earlier. If you go on MySpace, you'll see a picture of him holding two semi-automatics bare-chested. So, obviously we're dealing with a wacko."

Police executed a search warrant and removed a samurai sword and other evidence from the home.

Chitwood says there were no prior police calls to the house or documented history of domestic violence. There were also no restraining orders against the suspect.
