ATLANTA - It wasn't real, but a tweet from news account on Sunday had some Atlantans on edge.

Sunday afternoon, the Yahoo News account sent out the following tweet:

“BREAKING: EBOLA OUTBREAK IN ATLANTA! Estimated 145 people infected so far since Doctors carrying the disease were flown in from Africa.”

The tweet, which was sent out at 4:41 p.m., no longer existed on the timeline a half hour after it was put out there.

No official word has come from Yahoo other than a later tweet which stated:

"Earlier, an unauthorized tweet with misinformation on Ebola was sent from this account; please disregard that tweet."

The tweet gave some FOX 5 viewers pause. The newsroom received several calls, emails, tweets and Facebook messages about the legitimacy of the report.

Concerns over the disease are fresh on their minds following two U.S. citizen contracting Ebola and being flown back from Liberia to Atlanta for treatment. Dr. Kent Brantly and Nancy Writebol, who had trained as a nursing assistant, are being treated in an isolation unit at Emory University Hospital.

There have been no creditable reports of anyone contracting the deadly disease on U.S. soil.

No word on the origin of the tweet or if the account was actually hacked.
