ROME, Ga. - Police need the public's help in solving an ice cream truck robbery before it turns into a cold case.

According to reports released by the Rome Police Department, the Frosty Treats Ice Cream was robbed while selling at the corner of Maple and 15th streets just before 7:30 p.m. Sunday. The vendor says that a man posing as a customer instead of reaching for his ice cream reached for the money bag. The vendor says the bag contained about $185 and two gas receipts both for $50. The man then took off on foot.

The suspect is described as having long dreadlocks and was wearing a white tank top and black shorts at the time of the robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to call Rome Police Department detectives at 706-238-5111.
