The Donut Burger

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

It is a little bit of sweet mixed with a little bit of salty. It sounds like the perfect snack. But it's actually a meal: the Donut Burger.

Fox 5 has introduced you to some of New York's most indulgent dishes: there was the chocolate chip cookie shot and the rib that was as big as my face. Well, neither can top the Donut Burger from the Burger Bistro in Park Slope, Brooklyn. It features an Angus beef patty, bacon, cheese, and fried egg in between a glazed donut "bun."

I wish I were lying but I'm not. Somehow the savory meat flavor complements the sugary glazed donut bun perfectly, creating sweet and salty harmony in my mouth.

If you're a little intimidated by the Donut Burger, don't worry. The Burger Bistro's sandwich menu is totally customizable. Choose from a wide variety of meats and vegetarian options: endless cheeses, sauces and unusual toppings like buffalo shrimp.

Technically the Donut Burger is only served on Wednesdays but you can call ahead on the other days and they'll make one for you. I found one other patron brave enough to try it.

The Burger Bistro has three locations: Park Slope and Bay Ridge in Brooklyn, and Upper East Side in Manhattan.

The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is working to track down whoever posted dozens of stickers and fliers with swastikas and the word "Uber" in Brooklyn. The stickers and flyers filled with images of hate were placed outside a Jewish boys' school on Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn. A Shomrim safety patrol spotted the stickers on the sidewalk and in the gutters, police said.
