MUST LISTEN: 911 calls from the shooting involving two local police officers and a ten-year-old girl

Charlotte, NC - CMPD Police Chief Rodney Monroe arrested and charged Brandon Jamorris Brewer, 27, for his involvement in a shooting Sunday afternoon on N. Tryon and Tom Hunter Road in NE Charlotte.  Police charged Brewer with 20 charges that range from attempted murder, assault with a firearm on an officer to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Chief Monroe said two officers and a 10-year-old girl were all shot with shotgun pellets by Brewer who was being sought after a domestic violence call. Police originally responded to a domestic violence 911 call around 2 pm in the 400-block of Kingville Rd.

Officers could not find the woman who made the call and left. They were then called back to the same address at 3:24 pm. Police found a man outside with a shotgun. The first officer to respond took pellet shots to the leg and arm. The suspect then shot and hit a police cruiser. A second officer trying to approach the man was shot in the face and elbow.
The two injured officers have been identified as Kevin Stafford and Eric Bojaj.  Officer Stafford has been a member of the CMPD since 08/29/2011 and Officer Bojaj since 01/25/2010.  Both officers are currently assigned to patrol in the North Tryon Division.

Chief Monroe says the suspect then knocked on the door of a home in the area and a 10-year-old girl answered and she was also shot.

All 3 were taken to CMC Main and all are reported in good condition.

Chief Monroe says that no shots were fired by any officers during the incident.

Brandon Brewer has been charged with three counts of attempted murder, three counts of assault with a firearm on a law enforcement officer, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, six counts of discharging a firearm into occupied dwelling, two counts of damage to property, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, assault by pointing a gun and discharging a firearm within
